Vacation 2008 - Playacar, Mexico

We just returned from a 8 day family vacation in Playacar, Mexico. Playacar is about 45 minutes south of Cancun. A great time was had by all! We went with Grandma, Poppy, Uncle AJ, Aunt Sara, Mason, and Jackson.
The girls loved the beach and playing in the sand. Grace enjoyed making sand castle ice cream shops and Ava gave some great sand exfoliations to all of us. We did a little bit of everything including kayaking, seashell hunting, and parasailing. Yes, that's right I joined the adventurous along with my sister Sara and we hit the air tandem for a little sightseeing ride. It was so much fun! Grace has been questioning ever since how old she has to be to parasail. I told her she at least has to be 10 and tall enough to ride most roller coasters.
The pool was another daily favorite for the girls especially since Grace turned into a fish again for the Summer. This year she can swim even further than last year. But what is it that really makes the pool so much fun? It's the fact that you can just swim up and sit at a bar in a pool and order a drink. Strawberry ice was Grace's favorite and Ava loved Pineapple ice. They weren't too happy when mom and dad cut them off from those fruity drinks! Yes, you even have to cut off a 5 year old and a 22 month old from those non-alcholic beverages.
We took Grace on a horseback ride excursion which included a trailride and then a bareback ride in the ocean. My little rider didn't want to get off when she realized how much fun it is to ride a horse in the ocean.
We had a great time and although we are sad that our vacation is over we are always glad to come home and sleep in our own beds. Now, if I could just twinkle my nose and the laundry would be done.
