Spring Flowers

I love when Spring comes and I can go outside and plant some of my favorite things. The girls can spend the entire day from sun up till sun down playing outside.

1st and 3rd Place Ribbons

Grace loved being in the playdays event yesterday at the stables. She was the youngest competitor with the rest of the kids and one adult being atleast 5 years older than her. She rode Paris which is the same horse that she rides in almost all of her lessons. She and Paris did great. In her skill level there were about 6 kids. She got a 1st place ribbon for poles and a 3rd place ribbon for barrels. I have added a video of her competing in one event but since she has never even practiced this event she didn't do very well. You can just see by the smile on her face how much she loves it when Paris starts to gain speed. This week she is going to learn to canter Paris but she is so light that Ms. Anna is going to have to strap her to the saddle with a horse car seat.

Riding Lessons

I said that I would post some pictures of Grace at riding lessons so here you go. Here she is heading out on her 1st trail ride. She was so excited. Lots of you have asked what she is learning other than riding. She has to brush, clean out the horses shoes, put on it's blankets, saddle, and harness the horse before her lesson. After her lesson she takes everything off, puts it up and then brushes the horse one last time before endulging the horse with it's favorite treat of carrots. We like that fact that she has to learn that there is more to a horse than riding it. We take lessons from Anna at Woodhaven Stables. On the 17th Grace will participate in her first Playday which is a competition for beginning and intermediate riders. I will let you know how it goes.

April Recap

April came and left so quickly. This was a really busy month so this is the best way to recap. All of this combined with our normal routine and activities was alot.

1 new car. We traded in our Tahoe for a new family car. We bought a Volvo XC90. So far I really like it.

2 new babies. Welcome baby Abby who joined Beau, Julie & Big Sister Avery. Also, Welcome baby Landon who joined Justin, Brandi, and Big Sister Preslee.

3 hospital visits for friends and family. Not alot of fun. Thank goodness everyone is okay now.

4 birthday parties all in different areas of the metroplex. Happy Birthday to Colin, Nickolas, Avery, and Mason.

5 riding lessons. Grace started horse riding lessons. She LOVES it! Her favorite part is to clean the horses shoes.
