Happy 2nd Birthday Ava

Today my sweet Ava turns 2. I can not believe how fast two years have gone by. Ava is so sweet, gentle, and loving yet at the same time is such a monkey. There is nothing this girl can't tackle. If she wants something she is going to get it no matter what it takes to get there. She is very serious when it comes to meeting new people and seeing those that we haven't seen in a while.

I had to add pictures from the day that she came home from the hospital and from her 1st birthday photo shoot. This shoot was by Rebecca Peterman Photography. Becky is a great friend of mine from FBC, Plano but she decided to up and move back home to Hot Springs. Becky also did Ava's birth announcement.

Ava,

Happy 2nd Birthday! God truly blessed us with another Amazing girl when he gave you to us. We hope and pray that you will always find the way to get what you want no matter what the stakes. We thank God every day for you. Happy Birthday!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

We celebrated Ava's actual birthday with a family dinner at Chuck E Cheese. And followed it up with a Luau themed pool party on Saturday with lots of friends and family.

Fun at the Park!

BFF - Just like our mommy's

Grace & Ava

Kaylee

We finally found a time where we could meet up with my Best friend Kristie and 2 of her girls for some fun at the park. Kristie and I have been best friends for 23+ years. Although she moved closer to town a few years ago we still don't get to see each other as often as we would like to. Kristie has 3 girls Taryl, Kaylee, and Emma. Taryl didn't come that day because 17 year olds have alot better things to do than go to the park. The girls had a great time playing.

Catch Up!

Our company's annual 3 week seminar is now over and it took a few weeks for life to return to a normal routine at our house so I am finally completing some uploading of posts that I have had saved. Enjoy catching up on us from the last month.

Eating His Words

For those of you who do not know I grew up in a home with 2 sisters. I was the middle daughter so my dad was well out numbered. When we were little our dad would let us put make-up on him, paint his finger and toenails, fix his hair. What a great dad! When he had enough he would say so and we would take it all back off.

My parents were very active with the GA's (Girls in Action) group at our church and when the GA's had their annual lock-in in the church gym there had to be a man present for safety reasons. My dad pretty much became the GA dad. At the annual GA lock-in the girls would always have a beauty pageant. They would get all dolled up in their make up and dress up clothes and walk the runway. Every girl received a sash that gave them some kind of title. My dad would also let the girls get him all made up and he would walk the runway with them. The girls always thought this was the absolute funniest and best thing ever. It obviously was rare for dads to let their daughters do this. The girls and their dads would even say so.

Fast forward to 1999 when I met Ashley and his family. Ashley only has a brother so their mom was the only girl in that house. Somehow the subject came up about dad's and their daughters and we were talking about how my dad let us play beauty shop and he was the client. Ashley and his dad said they wouldn't let their daughter/granddaughters do this to them. I told them that one day they would eat their words. Boy was I right.

Now fast forward 9 more years to Ashley who is now a dad to 2 girls. He also is outnumbered.

First, I want you to see this great sprite commercial. It brings back lots of memories of playing beauty shop with my dad as a little girl. I know that my sisters feel the same way. What a GREAT dad!

Now I want you to see the pictures of Grace playing beauty shop with Ashley. She has yet to get out the make-up and jewelry but that isn't far behind. She is cutting his hair with a plastic play cell phone and she even gave him a pretend smock with a towel.

Happy 4th of July

This year for the 4th we checked into "Hotel Staten" along with Uncle Chicken, Aunt Shelley, Caleb & Leah. We had a great time enjoying the pool all weekend.
On the 4th Ashley and I took the girls to the annual 4th of July parade in Sachse. It goes down the main street in front of our neighborhood and Grace waits all year long to go. Of course what kid wouldn't knowing that they throw tons of candy to you. This was Ava's first year for the parade so she wasn't really sure what to expect. At first it scared her but when she realized that they threw candy she stepped right up to the curb to catch it. After the parade it was back to "Hotel Staten" to enjoy the rest of the weekend which included a day of swimming, playing with cousins and friends, and cooking out. We ended the night of the 4th by going to see the Garland Fireworks Show at Firewheel. The girls were exhausted but they were really excited about it.

The rest of the weekend we just played and swam. We had a great holiday weekend.

Thanks Grammy and PaPaw for going out of town so we could check in.
