Happy Thanksgiving

Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving day. I am so thankful for our families and wonderful friends. We spent this year with Ashley's extended family where all of the kids had the best time playing outside in the fort/restaurant. What kid doesn't love that monsterous playhouse? Grace has said all month that she is thankful for her family. Whenever she has drawn a picture this month at either church or school or even home about what she is thankful for she always draws the cutest family picture of all 4 of us. Cousin Caleb had his tonsils removed the day before Thanksgiving so he had to hang out and take it easy all day at Grammy and PaPaws hosue. Grace was so sweet to hang out in the room and watch TV, eat, and color with him all day. Even with a backyard full of kids playing she wanted to stay with Caleb and make sure that he was okay. So Sweet!

Turkey Cookies

The girls decorated turkey cookies that we made tonight. They turned out really cute. Grace and Ava love crafty projects so this was even better than scissors and glue because after they finish they get to eat their own artwork. Ava only made one really messy ugly turkey cookie. She had already decorated 3 turkey's so by the time she got to the last one she didn't care.

Thanksgiving Feast

Today was Grace's Thanksgiving Feast at school. Her class did a short presentation before eating that told about Thanksgiving. Grace had letter "O" and "X" to recite. She did very well and remembered her lines. The class then did their silly, get out your wiggles song, and then they ate. The kids were either a Pilgrim or an Indian. Grace was an Indian which I think completely fits her personality. If she was a Pilgrim she probably would have defected from them in the end.

Confessions of a Mother

If you look at most of our October pictures you will notice a big sore on Grace's nose. You just won't believe what her mother did! Her mother took her to the Sachse Fall Festival and forgot to put sunblock on her and Ava. The girls both got terrible sunburns on their faces. Grace had little blisters on her nose and then when she went to school on Monday she fell outside on the playground and broke the little blisters which caused a big sore to form. How does a mother forget that just because it's not Summer you can't get a sunburn? Poor Grace. The sore has luckily healed but you can her mom won't forget the sunblock again.

October Flew through

So it's been a while since I have updated with the exception of the girls Halloween picture. So check back to find a few updates of what we did this month. The month was full of fun times: the Sachse Fall Festival, Grace's 1st field trip (in the school bus), Covington's Fall Fun Day, the Ft. Worth Zoo, Ava's Fall Fun at MDO, and last but not least Trick or Treating.

Trick or Treat

We had our usual Halloween fun with Ashley's family. We started a tradition a few years back of eating dinner at their home and taking the kid's trick or treating. The kid's all have a great time together.
