The BIG Ice and Snow of 2011

We have been in our house since Tuesday because our area was covered in ICE.  Then woke on Friday morning to 5 inches of snow on top of the ice.  Its burr rabbit cold outside. The front of our house.
Down our street both ways.

Welcome to Bistro Staten for Grace's 8th Birthday

We celebrated Grace's birthday with a cooking party.  I embroidered all the kids and adult helpers aprons.

The kids made their own pizzas.

While the pizzas cooked the kids made a take home cooking activity.  They made an M&M cookie mix in a jar.

Then they ate their pizzas, Grace opened her presents.  After that they decorated their own cupcakes to eat.  Then had a little bit of time left to play and have some dance contestes (thanks Sara and Julie).

Happy 8th Birthday Grace

It's Grace 8th birthday and we celebrated with dinner at the restaurant of her choice. This year she got to bring her best friend Kyleigh with her. Then we headed back home where we had cake and she opened a few presents. Ashley and I bought her a desk for her room a couple of weeks before her actual special day for her.

First Snow of 2011

We had our first snow of the year.  I think this is going to become a yearly event for us here in Texas.  We ventured to the backyard.

then down to the park,
the girls got cold so we went home for hot chocolate.

And after we were warmed up headed back outside to build miniature snowmen.

Christmas Day with Ashley's Family

We spent Christmas Day with Ashley's family were we indulged in way too much lunch and desserts.  The kids played and played.  The got to open some fun new presents and between two sets of grandparents we managed to get enough toys for a whole new playroom.  The kids all got some fun new ride-ons.

Christmas Morning 2010

We put the girls to bed last night after leaving cookies, dr pepper, and a letter for Santa.  We even left carrots and water for his reindeer.

When we woke up on Christmas morning the reindeer ate their carrots and drank their water.

And Santa came and left presents.  He left exactly what the girls had asked for.  A "big" American Girl doll and a bubblegum machine for Ava.

And a Popcorn machine on wheels for Grace.
We opened presents.  Trust me these are alot of boxes but they contain almost all clothes which the girls both needed.

Even Dusty got new toys and treats.
We got to fun stuff in our stockings.

And Rudolph drank his water because his nose turned it red!
