Ava's Interpretation of the Farm Animal book

We were all sitting in Ava's room last night looking at and reading books. Ava has a Touch and Feel Farm Animal book which she loves since we have been at the horse barn so much. We were going through the book asking her to tell us the name of the animal and what that particular animal says. She was doing great naming everything and telling us the sound it makes. And then we turned the page to see the Lamb's. Imagine holding open the book and looking at a two page spread with Lambs standing around and a couple of them are standing around a long cut down tree trunk. We asked Ava what the animal was and what it said in which she answered perfectly. Then she points to the tree and says "Poo Poo." What do you say when you can't stop laughing? She innocently pointed again to the tree and says "Poo Poo" which luckily we had enough composure at this time to say "that's a tree." She said, "ohh tree."

I guess since she has been going potty alot lately she just named what she thought it looked like.

Camping with Beau & Julie

We spent 3 days camping with Beau and Julie in Athens this last weekend. It was a nice getaway for all of us since we went childless. We slept late, stayed up late, read books and magazines, and just enjoyed the adult time. We were on no one's schedule but our own. When the guys were fishing Julie and I were driving around on the golf cart watching the zebras, elk, deer, armadillo, geese, and anything else we could find. How awesome it would be to look out your kitchen window and see these animals just hanging out in your backyard every morning. We had a GREAT time! Thanks Beau & Julie for the invite. Just remember what happens in Athens stays in Athens.

And Julie: Do you know what SPANKS are?

Sweet Moments

I've always been told if the house gets quiet then someone is into something. Although I have found this only true for Ava and not Grace. I went looking for them once I realized it was a bit too quiet around our house and I found them in the nursery. Grace was reading Ava Goodnight Moon which is one of the only two books that she will let you read her at night night time. Luckily some sweet moments are caught on camera.

Swim Lessons

Grace is finishing up two weeks of swim lessons. She is swimming so much better this year and we have known all summer that she could but she just refused to swim for us 1/4 of the time. Which with Grace that isn't shocking at all.

Happy 2nd Birthday Ava

Today my sweet Ava turns 2. I can not believe how fast two years have gone by. Ava is so sweet, gentle, and loving yet at the same time is such a monkey. There is nothing this girl can't tackle. If she wants something she is going to get it no matter what it takes to get there. She is very serious when it comes to meeting new people and seeing those that we haven't seen in a while.

I had to add pictures from the day that she came home from the hospital and from her 1st birthday photo shoot. This shoot was by Rebecca Peterman Photography. Becky is a great friend of mine from FBC, Plano but she decided to up and move back home to Hot Springs. Becky also did Ava's birth announcement.

Ava,

Happy 2nd Birthday! God truly blessed us with another Amazing girl when he gave you to us. We hope and pray that you will always find the way to get what you want no matter what the stakes. We thank God every day for you. Happy Birthday!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

We celebrated Ava's actual birthday with a family dinner at Chuck E Cheese. And followed it up with a Luau themed pool party on Saturday with lots of friends and family.

Fun at the Park!

BFF - Just like our mommy's

Grace & Ava

Kaylee

We finally found a time where we could meet up with my Best friend Kristie and 2 of her girls for some fun at the park. Kristie and I have been best friends for 23+ years. Although she moved closer to town a few years ago we still don't get to see each other as often as we would like to. Kristie has 3 girls Taryl, Kaylee, and Emma. Taryl didn't come that day because 17 year olds have alot better things to do than go to the park. The girls had a great time playing.
