Memorial Day Weekend

First I need to say THANK YOU to all of the men and women who in the past and present serve our country. Thanks Bruce! I drank a few beers in your honor this weekend!

For Memorial Day Weekend we spent Sunday night and Monday at Ashley's parents house. The weather has been perfect so with just a little help from the heater PaPaw had the pool a perfect temperature for swimming. The girls had alot of fun. It didn't take Grace long to remember what she has learned in swimming lessons and Ava will on a rare occasion blow bubbles. Ava doesn't like water in her face whether she is in the bath or the pool so just just enjoys playing in the hot tub that PaPaw converted to a baby pool for the little ones.

Just some cute pictures of my sweetie pies!

Bye-Bye Boobies Party

My cousin Candy was very recently diagnosed with a very aggressive form of Breast Cancer. She had a Mastectomy, and she heals from her Mastectomy she will have 7 rounds of chemotherapy. This will all be topped off with a reconstruction surgery in the future. In honor of loosing her Breasts she was given a "Bye-Bye Cancer Boobies - Hello new Boobies" party. It was at her friends apartment complex. Her friend Charity did a great job putting everything together and it was a great way for everyone to support Candy and let her know that we are here for her.

Please keep her in your prayers.

Poison Control - What's their phone number?

Today Ava found a bag of Prevacid tablets that Grace's. Each tablet was in a "Child-proof" (yeah right) foil packet and then all the foil packets were inside of a ziploc type bag that the pharmacist uses. I kept finding these foil packets open and empty around my living, family, and play room. When I asked Ava what she did with them she said "I ate them. They were yummy!" OH GREAT! So I figured that I better call Poison Control but before I could even call them I had to call information to their phone number. On my old phone I had Poison Control stickers that listed their number but they went into the trash with the phone. When I called Poison control the lady said "She will have a tummy ache and some bad diapers but there isn't anything to worry about." That was when I thought that she only ate 3 tablets. I wasn't about to call them back to say that I found more foil packets and she really ate 7 tablets instead of 3. They would have called CPS on me.

Spring Flowers

I love this time of year when I finished planting all of the flowers in my backyard and then I begin to see the results of my hard work. It's so great to see my flowers start to bloom. The rain has been great for all of my fruits and vegetables also. They have tripled and quadrupled in size.

Meet the Newest Member of our Family

His name is Dusty and he is a retired racing Greyhound. Dusty will officially move in to our home this coming Friday. We have been in the process of adopting Dusty over the past few weeks. I say process because it requires an approved application, references, and home visits. Dusty is so sweet with Grace and Ava. He likes to have his belly rubbed and behind his ears scratched and if he isn't ready for you to stop rubbing he nudges you with his nose. We are really excited about Dusty joining our family. This weekend we have been busy getting all of his doggy gear that he will need.

Here is a little bio on Dusty that the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas wrote on him for their website.

"Dusty, aka Flying Dustberry, is a 5-year-old brindle male born December 22, 2003. His sire is the famous Gable Dodge, making his grand sire Wigwam Wag, and his dam is Flying Cherry. Dusty was quite the racer with 113 races under his belt - 54 of those races in Grade AA. He raced his whole career in Wheeling, West Virginia, beginning August 31, 2005 and ending August 17, 2007."

I have learned the past few weeks that I'm terrible at the waiting game. I have always wanted to add more children to our family one day through adoption and this has shown me that I would have to have a lot more patience in the Waiting game.
