Grace lost her 1st Tooth

Grace has had a loose bottom tooth for a little over 3 weeks. She lost it while she was at school yesterday. She was very excited because the nurse gave her a small treasure chest box to put her tooth in so that she wouldn't loose it. Luckily the tooth made it home in the box. Grace refused to touch the tooth so dad had to put it into the Tooth Fairy pillow. She was very excited to wake up and find that the Tooth Fairy left her a brand new $2 dollar bill. Her only question: Does the Tooth Fairy come through the chimney like Santa Clause does?

We could only get a silly picture.

"I'll Just get a job making dollars"

This was the conversation that Grace and I had this morning while fixing her hair for school. Remember that we have only gone to Kindergarten for a total of 6 days.

Grace: "Mom, I think I'll just quit Kindergarten and get me a job making dollars"
Mom: (while trying to hide my laughing) "Grace you can't get a job making dollars until you finish school. You still have to go through elementary, then to middle school, then to high school, and to college."
Grace: "I really don't need school as much as I need dollars."
Mom: "Grace there are laws that say that you have to go to school and that you are too little to have a job."
Grace: "Okay, I'll just go to school."

Here is what her little brain is thinking:
This Summer while staying with Grammy she found the Dollar Tree store. Where every item in the store only cost $1. This is the greatest thing to her. She came home saying that she wanted to do chores everyday and that she wanted to earn $1 a day. WOAH! I explained that $1 is a lot of money and that she would have to do a lot of chores to earn $1 a day. I also explained that just because you earn $1 a day doesn't mean that you get to keep the whole dollar. Some of it goes to God and some to savings. Then you get to keep the rest. And if I have to do any of your chores then I get to keep the money that chore was worth. Seemed okay to her as long as she would still have some dollars at the end of the week. Oh, to be a child again and to think that the Dollar Tree store can solve all of your problems.

Fractured Clavicle Bone

She did it! We knew that one day soon this day would come. Our sweet little Ava who thinks that she can climb anything fell off the bathroom stool two weeks ago. We were at home playing and doing things around the house. We kept telling Grace to go get something for us and she never did so we heard Ava sya "I get it" and then she ran down the hall into their bathroom and the next thing we hear is THUMP, BUMP, THUMP and then crying. Off we run to the bathroom to love and cuddle her and check for blood, bumps, or red marks. There was just one small little red mark on her face. After cuddling we went through our normal bedtime routine. She slept all night long and then in the morning when we went to pick her up under her arms she screamed. A loud hurting scream. We knew then that something wasn't right. So off to the pediatricians office we went and then to get x-rays. The doc said that she thought it was a fractured clavicle bone. The x-rays though showed that there was nothing wrong. Come to find out a fracture can take up to a month to show up on an xray. So we went home with instructions to give her motrin and keep her off her arm for two weeks. After one week we went back for a 2nd set of x-rays. This time we were checking to see if they could see the fracture and to check for a broken rib. Thank goodness we didn't have a broken rib. Then it was time to see a specialist which was a good thing because the Wednesday before we saw him a nice large lump showed up on her chest. Tuesday after Labor Day we spent 4 hours in this guys office for more x-rays and so that he could confirm that it is a fractured clavicle bone. We are suppose to go back in two more weeks to see him and to get all checked out again. It should be healed by then. The lump on her chest on the other hand can take up to 9 months to go away. WOW! We hope this is our last broken bone. Chances are though that our little superhero/monkey is going to get a few more bumps and bruises.
